We are very excited to announce that Spencer Stankowski is Valley’s November recipient of the SHINE award for the 2019-2020 school year. Our Character Education program is a key component to helping our students understand what it means to lead and to be good citizens. Every month, we honor one student who consistently demonstrates two or more pillars of character which are: Citizenship, Caring, Trustworthiness, Fairness, Respect, and Responsibility. To recognize these students for their efforts, Beavercreek City Schools has created the “SHINE Award – Highlighting Outstanding Students of Character.”
This is how Spencer’s teacher, Mrs. Eileen Schirmer, describes Spencer: "Spencer has shown that she cares for others since the beginning of school. She offers to help staff and other students when she has time available, but what we found to be most amazing is Spencer’s eagerness to help other students when they are frustrated. I have observed many occasions where Spencer noticed that someone was having difficulties, so she asked if she could help. Her demeanor while working with them is quite calm and supportive. Her positive words to others is very refreshing.
Spencer is a sweet, hard-working student. She will ask for help when needed, and enjoys helping others. She stays focused on the task at-hand in order to complete her work. It is a joy having Spencer in class.
Congratulations, Spencer! We are all very proud of you!
