Celebrating Valley's Students' Character with the SHINE Award for 2016-2017
Beavercreek City Schools celebrate our students' excellent character by honoring one student in each Beavercreek building each month who consistently demonstrates exemplary character in two or more pillars of character, which are: Citizenship, Caring, Trustworthiness, Fairness, Respect, and Responsibility. Our Character Education program is a key component to helping our students understand what it means to lead and to be good citizens. Often, our students set a high bar for themselves, demonstrating outstanding character and leadership in their school. To recognize these students for their efforts, the "SHINE Award - Highlighting Outstanding Students of Character" was created. Students are nominated to receive this award by their teachers.
Recipients of the award are selected each month and will be honored by their peers, teachers and administrators. They will also receive recognition at the district level during a Board of Education meeting.
It is truly an honor to be selected for this award, and we are very proud of these hard-working Valley students!!
